Stephanie began the project on January 2, 2008 as a year-long study to visually document 365 days in sequence as a means of structured, personal photographic exploration. Images vary in subject matter and perspective – revealing seasonal shifts in light and color, and personal focus over time. The series culminated on January 1, 2009.
Stephanie is a documentary and fine art photographer and digital media producer. She lives on a cattle farm with her family in Walton County, Georgia where she sculpts natural light, thinks deep, avoids ironing, and enjoys watching the grass grow.
Recently, Stephanie and fellow Shutter Sister, Jen Lemen, won the “Name Your Dream Assignment” global photography competition, sponsored by Lenovo and Microsoft, for their submission "Picture Hope." This award sends them on a journey to five continents over the next twelve months to capture and share images and stories of hope.
