The
Monroe Art Guild and Walton County Music Guild are teaming up on a
fundraiser which will take place twice a year starting next month. The
goal is to promote restaurants (which give a percentage of the sales
that day/time to both groups) and to promote the arts in new and
consistent way. The twice a year event will go toward childrens'
programs provided by both organizations such as Summer Camps,
Scholarships, and Classes.
We
picked March and October as our months because March is "Youth Art &
Music Month" while October is "National Arts & Humanities Month".
For example, each March and April the MAG hosts the annual Walton County
Student Art Show featuring art from public and private schools
throughout Walton County provided by the art teacher from elementary,
middle, and high schools. Then the WCMG has auditions for the Ira Martin
Youth Scholarship Program in mid-March for middle and high school
students.
Tell
