Loganville High School senior, Patrick Barron, was name winner of the Monroe Art Guild Annual Student Art Show and recipient of the $500 scholarship for his life-like portrait . The scholarship was made possible by our generous sponsor Jim Schrull, Owner of Just Right Auto Sales. Pictured above are: Jim Schrull, Owner, Just Right Auto Sales; Patrick Barron, Senior, Loganville High School; Tim Barron, father; Cindy Barron, mother; and Helen Tompson, Art Teacher, Loganville High School. The show judge had this to say about Patrick's winning piece:
"After reviewing all contestants entries, I decided upon the winner because its detail and shading was stellar. The artist obviously took care to notice the intricacies of the model’s facial contours, high cheekbones, even the shirt that was worn. The subject seemed almost as if he were able to walk off the page. The warmth of the hues used evoked a feeling of humanity, and chalk pastels were a wonderful choice of media for this piece."
Patrick plans to continue to pursue his art education following graduation from Loganville High School. He is considering the Atlanta College of Art and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
