And the Winners are...
The Opening Reception for the 2012 Summer Members Show was on Friday, July 20 from 6:00-8:00pm with awards being announced at 7:00pm. The show has over 150 pieces from over 60 artists and represents 21 communities around the state and beyond. The show runs from July 10- August 23, 2012.
The show was judged by Aiken, South Carolina sculptor Tom Supensky. All of the work submitted was given a number and all of the names were hidden from the judge so that the show could be judged as fair and consistent as possible.
The show was sponsored by Athens First Bank & Trust. Their Monroe branch is located right behind the Monroe Art Guild Building on Washington Street.
The flowers for the Opening Reception were provided by The Garden Gate Florist located on Wayne Street in Downtown Monroe. Food & Punch for the reception was provided by the Monroe Art Guild Board of Directors.
The show is free and open to the public. Hours are: Tuesday - Friday from 10am-5pm and then Saturdays during shows from 11am - 2pm.
