The Walton County Agricultural Heritage Show (May 8-30, 2012) pays homage to the impact agriculture has been in Walton County from cotton fields, the Agricultural & Mechanical School, Deere Acres, livestock, dairy, to the rolling hills and pastureland. This show has material and art furnished by the community for the community to enjoy and learn. Included in the show are John Deere/Deere Acres related items from the collection of Conrad Barnes as well as photographs by Charles Dyer done in the wet-plate collodion style used in the 19th century.
Please
join us on Thursday, May 17 from 6:30-8:30pm for the Opening Reception
of the show. The opening will feature a slide show from Mr. Barnes, who
will be present to answer any questions about the tractors, Deere
Acres, and his collection.
The May Members' Gallery features art by Judy Krieger. The retired teacher and artist displays paintings featuring still-life, landscapes, and portraits. Work will be displayed from May 8-30, 2012 just like the Main Gallery space. Come out on Thursday, May 17 from 6:30-8:30pm and enjoy the Opening Reception.
