ARTIST MEET & MINGLE (Second Saturdays)
Mark Your Calendars!!! After talking with several artists and looking at ways to build a stronger and more collective artist community, the Monroe Art Guild will host an Artist Meet & Mingle on the second Saturdays of each month. We had our first meeting last Saturday to see what Saturday works out better. The next Meet & Mingle will be November 13 from 11am-1pm at 205 South Broad Street. The purpose is to build fellowship, trade knowledge, and share current work in the process or a recent work finished- you may want feedback. This will give a chance for some of you to meet outside of show competitions and receptions, and help to keep the artistic spirit alive and active. So bring a piece of art and let's talk! Remember "Show & Tell"? Well this is the adult artist version. Afterwards you can grab a bite to eat or a sweet tea at one of the great dining establishments in walking distance. See you there!

COLLAGE WORKSHOP
Member Artist Susan Pelham will host a workshop on creating collage art on Saturday, October 16 from 10am - 2pm. The cost for the workshop is $60 and includes: glue, tracing paper, and boards. Students should bring: scissors (regular and fingernail size) and magazines (quality color and weight like those of Veranda, Architectural Digest). Class size is limited to 8 students. Mrs. Pelham spoke about the "The Art of Collage" in June as the Art Talk guest presenter.

Over the summer the Atlanta Beltline hosted a similar event and had it as a parade.
